Location
La Riva is located in East Gippsland, Victoria. The Homestead is nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac street overlooking the Mitchell River, the Bluff and Jones Bay, which all form part of the Gippsland Lakes.
From Melbourne
La Riva is approximately 3-3.5 hours drive from Melbourne. We can be found in Google Maps. Upon approach, turn left off Mathiesons Road into a short gravel driveway and through the gates towards The Homestead. Other transport options to Bairnsdale:
- VLine train service
- Public Transport Victoria coach service
- Charter flights into Bairnsdale airfield can be arranged.

Parking
The Homestead contains garage space for several vehicles and there is plenty of open space for casual parking. Electric Vehicle (EV) charging (Tesla) is available in the garage. Caravan, boat or trailer parking can be arranged with prior notice.

Is the 25-metre infinity edge swimming pool heated?
The 25 metre infinity edge salt chlorinated swimming pool is heated during the day between 26°C and 28°C (78°F and 82°F) over summer and the shoulder periods where feasible based on weather temperatures.
Are children allowed?
The Homestead is not suitable for infants or children and there are safety concerns regarding the pool area. Please ensure all guests are older than 12 years of age when considering this property.
Are pets allowed?
As we have a large number of wildlife on the property, we do not allow pets unless they are support or assistance animals. Please Contact Us to discuss your requirements.
Do we have exclusive access to The Homestead during our stay?
Accommodation booking includes the entire Homestead providing exclusive use of the property.
How far away are the nearest shops?
Mathiesons Road is located approximately ½ way between Bairnsdale (main township) and Paynesville which both offer options for supplies and great food. The drive is approximately 7-10 minutes to either location.
